Cathal is currently involved in a couple of different projects, through his company xennaNET Ltd. xennaNET provides networking and Internet services for SMEs. Services include all types of Internet hosting, firewalling, office networking, teleworking solutions, web development, bespoke software, application customisation, to name but a few. xennaNET draws on a team of engineers who have been working with SMEs for a number of years, and appreciate their typical needs.
Cathal is also Chief Engineer for NetTeam Consulting, a xennaNET customer with a product known as NetTeam Server. NetTeam Server is a web based application to aid in oraganising people, projects, tasks and documents. With customisations, this can be extended to include workflow, collaboration and advanced reporting. xennaNET have helped bring the product from design through to release. Initially ASP based, NetTeam Server has evolved to a mix of JSP and Servlets utilising XML and XSLT, running on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux with a Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL backend. An EJB framework is well under way to further improve the server's scalability.
