“There’s no one as Irish as Barack O’Bama” goes platinum.

OK, maybe not quite platinum just yet, but further to my earlier post with the lyrics to “There’s no one as Irish as Barack O’Bama”, there’s been a few developments.

Firstly, the Hardy Drew and Nancy Boys are now known by their more literal, but less imaginative, name of Corrigan Brothers. Copyright lawyers might have been a little uneasy about the former name!

They’ve also signed a deal with Universal Records to release the song, good and proper! I know downloadmusic.ie (an Irish success story offering a good-value music download site for indie/lesser-known music, in a way that your grandma could manage!) had been talking to the brothers, but they’ve set their eyes on something bigger. Good luck to them! What started as a bit of a laugh has snowballed! You can buy the song on iTunes.

Finally, the song, along with karaoke-style lyrics is available on YouTube:

I still prefer the more folk-esque variant of Shay Black (as posted in the above mentioned
previous post), but good luck to the Corrigans! You can read more on the launch!
